English version - Short introduction
This is the website of a very big family in the Netherlands, father, mother and 17 children. We don't have so many children for "fun" or something, but we believe in the God of the Bible, Who gives life to everybody. It is not our task to "fix the limit" of the numbers of children a couple can accept.
Although we are with many, we have a lot of fun and we are a strong family. We like to talk, to play, to tease and we do like humour. Just in a big family there are several comic situations where we laugh about - usually our own - stupid things. It makes that there is a sound view at the important things of life. We can moderate all things and our life is - although it is always noisy at home - very relaxed.
We are living in a village, Castricum, near the coast of the North Sea and thirty kilometers from Amsterdam. On summery days we like the beach or the dunes. On the other part of the village are the "polders", former lakes where people are now living below sea-level, and in the spring filled with typical Dutch flowers (tulips).
In our family we like playing music and singing. Piano, violin, viola, saxophone, German flute, guitar, trumpet are the instruments we can play on (good/worse). We understand German, Norwegian, English, French and naturally Dutch.
We don't translate the whole website (every single page), but give you an overview of the most interesting subjects in our family life. We started now with an English introduction. Are you more interested in what we write, you have to learn Dutch. But images say often more than thousand words, so take a tour through the website, look after the photographs which are putted on several webpages (f.e. Gezin/Fotoboek). We hope you enjoy what we show in all the photographs.
